Chapter 34- Black Horse
The door flung open a few hours later. It wasn’t right. He was early. He left the door open. Abbie heard distant alarms go off and the rushing of feet, as well as screaming and roaring. The blinding lights flashed on like lightning, shocking the tiny teenager. He grabbed a knife off the table and straddled Abbie, putting all his weight on her stomach. She looked at him, eyes wide. He held the cold blade to her neck, sweat covering face and eyes desperate.
“I’m giving you one last chance. Tell me who the last creature we need is.” He was out of breath. Abbie was about to open her mouth, when someone interrupted her.
“Abbie!” The familiar deep voice carried itself to her ears. Before Abbie could look, the knife dragged itself across her boney neck, crimson red blood pouring out of the wound. The last thing Abbie saw was Andy fall to the ground and Ashley dragging him away.

Her body glowed. She landed on all four hooves. She snorted and shook out her silky black mane. She shook her head and looked around. Brad was laying in the middle of the floor, a knife stuck in his back. She noticed something about her legs were different. They were all black, instead of fading to black just above her knees. She looked the rest of her body over. It was all a sleek black. She shrank down to a human and ran her hands through her hair. Hair? Brad had scalped her and, even though her skin had, the hair never grew back. How long had she been dead? She brought around a piece to her face and looked at it. Black? She fell to her knees, confused. She still heard sirens howling, and feet running.
She felt someone scoop her up from behind and cradle her in their arms. She looked up at Chris’s face and squinted her eyes. Was she dreaming? What was Chris Motionless, lead singer of Motionless in White, doing carrying her away from the room she was tortured in for almost two months? He looked down at her piercing blue eyes and smiled.
“I told you I’d be there for you,” he whispered. He ran past people dressed in a familiar uniform fighting off the soldiers. She berried her face in his chest, hiding herself from the dead and injured soldiers from both sides. He ran through a door that led outside. Abbie still heard the clinking of weapons and cries of people in pain. She looked up from the singer’s chest to see him running towards a familiar-looking tour bus. He didn’t stop running until they were inside and the door was closed behind them. He laid Abbie down on one of the couches and sprinted to the front of the bus.
“Everyone in?” She heard him ask the bus driver. After a short pause, the bus rolled to motion. Abbie felt someone sit on the edge of the couch by her feet. She looked at Chris as if expecting something.
“A few weeks after you went missing and Andy decided the police weren’t going to do anything, he gathered up a bunch of bands to help find you. All of Warped Tour was cancelled, in fact, and Andy did the best he could to get together ‘The Black Army.’ Once he had, he tracked your cell phone signal to that… human preparation camp and decided to make a Black Army base because he figured it was going to take a while. He was right. We liberated a ton of other places like this, but this one was definitely the worst,” he explained. Ghost, as well as the rest of the band, walked out of the bunk area and sat on the couch across from them.
“So this is the horse?” one of them asked.
“She has a name, Ryan,” one of the others said.
“And I’m supposed to know what it is?” the first one, Ryan, asked. Abbie looked at them cautiously.
“It’s ok, Abbie. You already know Ghost, and this is Ryan, Ricky, Balz, and Brandon,” Chris said slowly. Abbie kept her eyes on them. She glanced at Ghost, who nodded.
“Promise?” she asked. Ghost nodded again. The rest of the band looked at both of them questioningly.
“I’ll call Andy,” Chris said, getting up and walking over to the bunks.
“So, you’re the horse?” Ryan asked again. Abbie nodded.
“And… you shape shift?” Brandon asked. Abbie nodded again.
“And can heal yourself?” Ricky added. Abbie held up the tip of her finger and made it glow.
“Sweet,” Balz smiled. Abbie pulled her knees to her chest
“Can you… show us?” Ryan asked eagerly. Abbie glared at him.
“Guess not,” Brandon remarked.
“Guys did you not just see the place that this girl was in? Can’t you that she’s been through a lot and just leave her alone?” Ghost exclaimed. Abbie looked at him, surprised at how quickly he had snapped.
“Andy said to meet him at his house,” Chris said, walking back in.
“Where are we?” Abbie asked quietly.
“Arizona,” Chris replied. Abbie nodded.
“We have about  six and a half hours left,” Ghost added.
“You’re more than welcome to sleep in one of our bunks. You must be exhausted,” Chris said, motioning to the bunk area. Abbie nodded and over to one of the bunks. She chose the one in the same spot as Jinxx’s had been and climbed in, wrapping herself in the soft blankets. Before her head had even hit the pillow, she was out like a light.
Well... looks like someone else got to Brad before you guys could.

Thank goodness, too. Some of those comments sounded way worse than getting stabbed in the back.
