Chapter 15- City Lights
Once Black Veil Brides left the stage, Abbie’s stomach got tied in knots. They were so close to the stage, and Abbie was almost certain the scary man was in the band they were about to see.
“You’re an amazing singer can I have your autograph?” a deep voice whispered in her ear.
“Hi Andy,” she giggled, turning around and momentarily forgetting her fears.
“Are you ready to hear some awesome music?” Andy asked. Before Abbie could answer, the band walked onstage. To Abbie’s dismay, the last person onstage was the scary man. He hadn’t seen her yet, but she doubted it would take long for him to since she was so close to the stage.
“Hi Abbie!” a girl’s voice said behind her. She looked up at Andy, who smiled and nodded.
“Go ahead,” he mouthed, nodding towards the girl. She turned around and smiled at the brown-haired girl. Her light green eyes were surrounded by thick rings of winged eyeliner, making them pop. She was holding a small, shiny red camera that had a tiny red blinking light on it.
“Hi! What’s your name?” she exclaimed.
“Casey! You were amazing on stage!” she exclaimed quickly, obviously very excited but also slightly out of breath.
“Thanks! You guys were amazing, too.”
“Can you please sign my shoes?” the girl asked, holding up a pair of black converse with signatures all over them. Abbie nodded.
“If I could get a pen…” Abbie trailed off, glancing at her dad.
“Hi again, Andy!” Casey exclaimed.
“Hi,” he said with a smile, handing Abbie a silver sharpie. She signed underneath Andy’s signature, then handed his sharpie back to him.
“Thank you so much!” she exclaimed.
“No problem!” Abbie replied. The girl turned back to the concert. Abbie reluctantly did, too, knowing that, with Andy right next to her, the man was obviously going to spot her soon. He was on the other side of the stage, but once he turned around and came towards their side, he saw her. He smiled slightly and bent down right in her face, so close their noses almost touched. He looked her right in the eyes.
“We are all alone!” he screamed into the mic, right in her face. It took her a second to realize how beautiful the song they were playing was. It was a great message, and almost as beautiful as Lost it All. That still didn’t change the fact that her heart was going a million miles a second. He stood up and walked around the stage more, connecting with the music, but more angrily than the other performers had. She liked it. The man’s voice was thick and powerful, as if he was giving a speech. It was satisfying, like it got out all of her anger just by listening. She loved the feeling. She kept her eyes on him and he kept his eyes on her throughout the concert, even as he moved throughout the stage.

That night, they all gathered around in the bus and talked and laughed just like they used to do at camp. She smiled. It reminded her of the old days, how they used to laugh and joke around even though they had a heavy weight on their shoulders. Even the night before they were about to end the battle for good, they could still forget about everything and let loose. She never wanted to lose that. But the thought of camp also reminded her of Jess, and it brought a dull, stabbing pain in her chest, especially watching the rest of the guys cuddling with their girlfriends. Even Ashley had his arm around a random girl who seemed to be enjoying herself. Andy was the only other person who seemed to have the same slight longing feeling she had. She could tell he really loved and missed Juliet, and, even though it would’ve costed her the fun of Warped Tour, she wished that she was there so he could be happy.
